Also, I am curious why it still uses XFree-libs as a dependency.. though not an immediate issue..

It's been discussed in the ports list. You can just wait for it to be fixed, but if you are in a hurry setting:
WITHOUT_MOZILLA=YES
should make it work.
Didn't work for me yesterday. However, I was able to install the package from:
http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/ooomisc/FreeBSD/
