I have noticed that the host command no longer produces the same output
as it did prior to the bind 8.2.2p5 import to 3.4.
For machines with an MX record prior to bind 8.2.2p5 I used to get:
bob@obiwan-p4 /home/bob> host umd1.umd.edu
umd1.umd.edu is a nickname for haven.umd.edu
haven.umd.edu has address 128.8.10.6
haven.umd.edu mail is handled (pri=4) by haven.umd.edu
But now on a recently upgraded 3.4-stable system I get:
bob@luke:p6 /home/bob> host umd1.umd.edu
umd1.umd.edu is a nickname for haven.umd.edu
haven.umd.edu has address 128.8.10.6
haven.umd.edu has address 128.8.10.6
The uname -a output from the first system is:
FreeBSD obiwan.pmr.com 3.4-RC FreeBSD 3.4-RC #11: Sun Dec 12 17:14:35 CST 1999
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr2/src/sys/compile/OBIWAN i386
and the second:
FreeBSD luke.immure.com 3.4-STABLE FreeBSD 3.4-STABLE #19: Thu Dec 30 20:10:23 CST
1999 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/sys/compile/LUKE i386
Anybody else noticed this?
Thanks,
Bob
