I don't know if this can be the cause of your problem, but
the /32 netmask for aliases has been deprecated quite a while
ago.
Can you point me to some doc about this?
Manpage for ifconfig still say: "If the address is on the same subnet as
the first network address for this interface, a non-conflicting netmask
must be given. Usually 0xffffffff is most appropriate."
