This happens to me also. Strange thing, when I plug the mouse into a port that is connected directly to the motherboard (not via a hub), it is detected. When connected to a hub (the integrated hub on my P5K), it is not. Could it be that FreeBSD fires up the hub after trying to detect the mouse?
