Explaination: USB mice are handled by devd. So if the system
detects the presence of a ums device, devd "remote-controls"
moused to activate this mouse.
# The entry below starts moused when a mouse is plugged in. Moused
# stops automatically (actually it bombs :) when the device disappears.

device-name "ums[0-9]+";
action "/etc/rc.d/moused start $device-name";

This is from /etc/devd.conf.
