GRML ISOs (from grml.org) can be dd-ed directly to a USB stick and should then boot with any reasonable current BIOS.
Thanks. It is great to see that so many ISOs can be dd-ed to USB keys. I wish the distributions would make it clearer which ISOs work as USB images and which do not. I am reluctant to download gigabytes of ISOs just to find that most do not work.
