Dan, I had the same problem yesterday on a 4.2-RELEASE machine. Even though name lookups were working, I could not make Apache start until I added a line to /etc/hosts describing the machine's name: 206.190.29.230 clutch.slgdevelopment.com clutch try mapping your hostname to address in /etc/hosts and restarting Apache.
