top does not work on P-1 SMP box

Hello, 
I have one dual Pentium-1 box with FreeBSD-STABLE. "top" fails on it:
%uname -a
FreeBSD hosting.admiral.ru 4.3-STABLE FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE #1: Thu Jun
14 17:20:16 MSD 2001
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/opt/obj/usr/src/sys/HOSTING  i386
%top
top: nlist failed
%
This looks like kernel/userland out-of-sync, but they are in sync :-)
I don't have this problem on UP systems with same -STABLE
