When I first looked into these things about a year ago, lmmon was the only one of these things that I could get to run on any of my boxes. But it's not much use for temperature reporting. For example, on one of my boxes, it shows a motherboard temp of 30C (which is probably correct), but on the two others where it's running right now, it shows temps around 255C -- and it's hardly necessary to say that this is wrong if the machine is still running ... The idiotic results are all on very new machines, so I don't have much hope for this utility.
