This is one of those troublesome nvidia chipset A7N8X motherboards.

I do not have a serial console set up, but here are the last few lines of
a verbose boot... if I need to set up a serial line for more from the
verbose boot, let me know...  I can easily post a regular dmesg from
my working kernel (built from March 5th sources) if that will help.

at this point it stops.
