Maybe this is (or should be) a FAQ: I don't think you can put two NICs on the same subnet with FreeBSD. Please correct me if I'm wrong, especially if you can post a inconfig backing you up. ::D
Actually, I believe mlaier@ recently committed a patch that enables you to do this (as part of the preparation for CARP)
