I believe you should see this message only once after creating a new array/unit, given that you give the box enough uptime to finish the initialization. The following message confirms that the initialization is complete (it took 4.5 hours on my box with a 9500-8LP, which btw is running 5.3): twa0: INFO: (0x04: 0x0007): Background initialize done: unit=0
