I just now saw that myself, being the dilnob I am, I searched the
mailing list, relnotes, errata, and forums, but didn't actually read my
own kernel conf file until after a I sent my email.

In general, the way to figure these things out is to start from the
GENERIC kernel, and make a few changes at a time. If something
