I portupgraded -rRa (all) ports and all was well. Except the fact that KDE (my wife's account uses it) did not start up. Fvwm (my own manager) did though. What I did was a *one time start* of kde from my root account. This one did start! I logged off again as root, started X as my wife an now kde started up OK.
