I believe the on-disk structure for vinum and gvinum are the same so you can move volumes unchanged from one to the other. I have moved vinum volumes from 4.11 to 6.1 without any problem (including mirrored, striped and raid-5 on the same host). You have to move the mount device from /dev/vinum to /dev/gvinum of course.
