Hard to tell, it compiles and installs here:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] pv | grep viewvc
viewvc-1.0.4 = up-to-date with port
[EMAIL PROTECTED] pv | grep pyth
python25-2.5.1 = up-to-date with port
subversion-python-1.4.4_1 = up-to-date with port

"Here" is -stable:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] uname -a
FreeBSD kg-work.kg4.no 6.2-STABLE FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE #4: Tue Jun 19 17:47:13
CEST 2007 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/SS51G i386

Perhaps you have something in /etc/make.conf that shouldn't be there?
