According to at least two reports, iSCSI initiator in 7.0-RELEASE is buggy and has problems that manifest in very low performance. There are patches for it which should be committed soon. See this thread: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-scsi/2008-February/003383.html
