That usually means that it's really a USB1.x device, but marketing
department decided that selling it as a USB 2.0 compatible device
would probably be better for sales :-)

I've done some experimenting and it appears to be true in this
case as well.  I've checked on a different system running
Winbloze and it agrees that it's USB1 :-(.

Looking further, it seems that the 'USB2' claim only exists in
some countries - presumably where that sort of claim doesn't
raise the ire of the relevant consumer protection body.

Thanks for that pointer.  Sorry for disturbing this list.

Do not confuse high-speed with USB2.
A slow device can still be USB2 compliant as USB2 still
defines the slower speeds.
