--- Comment #166 from [email protected] --- (In reply to Gerard Seibert from comment #165) OK. Commenting out device xhci from the generic config "fixes" the problem, in that the "device vanished" messages no longer appear at the console/dmesg.[1] So this narrows it down to a problem between 'ASM1142 USB 3.1 Host Controller' and xhci [1] ofc theres no usb3 connectivity now, either. This is on stable/12-n232774-d88ac710ce5 built today (new world+kernel) So there needs to be either a fix for the issue or a couple of workarounds depending on your use case: 1. presumably your usb3 is built into the motherboard. switch it off in the bios and install a usb3 card known to work if you really need usb3. 2. just do what i did and disable xhci and recompile if you can do without usb3 functionality. I can do this because the machine in question is a headless server rather than a desktop. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-usb To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[email protected]"
