It means that your laptop has Mobile Intel Processor + Intel Pro Wireless Card + Intel 855 Chipset Family. It is not any innovative technology which is invented by Intel :) It is rather innovative marketing...
About the wireless cards. The best featured wireless cards use Atheros chipsets. Certainly you should have a minipci port in your laptop which was occupied by the Intel Pro Wireless card (since you claim that your laptop is centrino, it must have had a wireless minipci card sometime in the past, perhaps the previous owner remove it). Thus, you can buy a minipci card which will fit nicely into your laptop.
What is the model of this laptop?
