Jean-Jacques,

this was exactly what I called a "pixel image object". I'm sorry that this
didn't come across the right way. We'd need that anyhow.

This is where I have a problem. This would essentially mean that all part
numbers would be one off, because the first button on the card in HyperCard
would have, for example, part number 1 while in FreeCard the card picture
(which has no part number in HC) would occupy that number and the button
would appear to have moved one position upward because it has now part
number 2.

>You will have anyway to address the issue of grouping object, primarely

That is an entirely new feature that won't interfere with importing
stacks. The problem always lies where a new feature would cause a
difference in an object that will make scripts cease to work. To achieve
our goal of 100% HyperCard compatibility, the effort of taking an existing
stack and run it under FreeCard must be minimal. Ideally, you would just
export the stack to a FreeCard stack file using a special HyperCard stack
and then you could merely double-click the FreeCard stack and it would run
without changes.

So, going back to the problem: How can we have "paint frame" or "pixel
image" objects and card pictures in a way that both makes them similar
enough so their use is logical to people new to xCard applications, while
not changing the ordering of any parts during conversion or removing the
concept of card pictures altogether and thus preventing imported HyperCard
stacks to run properly.

Cheers,
