Hi,
well, there's still ResEdit. If you're looking for something better,
look for a MetroWerks-specific solution (i.e.
PowerPlant/Constructor). This will all get better with OS X and its
cool tools (ProjectBuilder, InterfaceBuilder etc.).

You've chosen a rather awkward time, as Apple are currently in the
middle of the move from Classic to Carbon. You can just use the
Classic docs (New Inside Macintosh, downloadable in bits and pieces
from Apple's side, but basically the same as Apple's Inside Macintosh
CD contained, just in PDF instead of DocViewer format) and then also
download the addenda concerning themselves with MacOS 8. For Carbon
documentation, you'll have to peruse the header files until the Apple
documentation folks have caught up with the programmers.
