I think the current color scheme is fine.

As stated before, vertical scrolling is very common
and thus acceptable. Horizontal scrolling, OTOH, is
uncommon and with good reason. IOW, I still strongly
urge the FC website developers to avoid horizontal
scrolling. Which is the effectively case in the
revised version of your web design, e.g. no horizontal
scrolling, so all is well now.

> I think these rules are a decade old now...

Yes, the decades-old guideline that horizontal
scrolling should be avoided is well-known and
well-documented.

Regrettably, it is true that vertical scrolling is
very very widespread on the Web. But this is not
because the scroll concept is the best. In my
experience, I have often witnessed teachers resorting
to ONE scrolling page merely coz they didn't want to
have to deal with more complex (hierarchical) URLs.
Many people resort to the one-large-scrolling-page
tactic merely because it makes it easier to print the
complete document. A reasonable need, but this does
not necessarily imply the one-large-scrolling-page
tactic, e.g. provide a link to a printer-friendly
version of the complete document. And publish this
link on every card-sized page to make clicking on this
link painless and obvious. A printer icon could be
used. The printer-friendly doc could be PDF or
whatever is deemed best.

> This is NOT a ticket-machine.

I am not sure what you mean by "ticket-machine", but I
presume that you are satirizing my card-size approach
where there is no card-scrolling whatsoever. Everyone
is entitled to one's particular opinion, of course,
and there is no accounting for preferences (taste),
but, coming from someone with an xCard bkgnd, I find
this comment kind of ironic.

I consulted the page and Anthony's pictures today. I
am personally pleased with the current design. All of
the anomalies that I raised recently have been taken
care of. I have none to add at this time. Keep up the
good work, Stephan (and y'all).

Alain Farmer
