Details:
On S2_2 and trunk, running ./configure gives a warning as subject. This page
<http://www.gnu.org/software/autoconf/manual/html_node/Changed-Directory-Variables.html>
suggests how to clean it up.
(This applies to S2_1, which also warns about intl/Makefile.in, but I don't
know what that was for so I'm not touching it. It was declared obsolete and
removed in r14517 on S2_2/trunk.)
