Summary: Overview map area has grown from 2.2 to 2.3 (bad for small screens) Project: Freeciv Submitted by: jtn Submitted on: Sat Feb 26 15:59:41 2011 Category: client-gtk-2.0 Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: 2.3.0-beta3 Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: GNU/Linux Planned Release: 2.3.0 _______________________________________________________ Details: The overview map for "normal"-sized maps seems to have acquired a big border, making the whole left sidebar's use of screen space less efficient. This is a shame after all the effort that went into 2.2 to make Freeciv more playable on netbook-sized screens. See screenshots. (These were taken without any of the small-screen options turned on, but it doesn't make any difference if they are.) I suspect this is probably something to do with bug #16263 (the scrollable overview map that came in with the increased maximum map size), but I haven't investigated in detail. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat Feb 26 15:59:41 2011 Name: gtk-left-S2_2.png Size: 66kB By: jtn Comparison of left side of Gtk client between 2.2 and 2.3 <http://gna.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=12566> ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat Feb 26 15:59:41 2011 Name: gtk-left-S2_3.png Size: 73kB By: jtn Comparison of left side of Gtk client between 2.2 and 2.3 <http://gna.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=12567> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://gna.org/bugs/?17802> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ _______________________________________________ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
