Follow-up Comment #6, bug #17515 (project freeciv): Not if the default value for IndexIgnore is in effect -- that matches "README*".
Since Gna has FancyIndexing <http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/mod/mod_autoindex.html#indexoptions.fancyindexing> enabled, if we knew or were able to control the value of HeaderName <http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/mod/mod_autoindex.html#headername> (or ReadmeName <http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/mod/mod_autoindex.html#readmename>), we could get the file content directly in the index, without the user having to click. Do we know if download.gna.org honours .htaccess <http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/howto/htaccess.html> files, allowing options to be tweaked? (Is this something I have the privileges to experiment with?
