Follow-up Comment #8, bug #19149 (project freeciv):

That didn't look too bad option to me. It's not like we need to duplicate the
code, but the full RGBA version can use RGB version and just add alpha channel
handling and compiler will certainly optimize resulting code as if it would be
the old full version. Patch attached.
