Details:
Would it make sense to switch IS_BETA_VERSION 'on' (and IS_DEVEL_VERSION
'off') in S2_4 already, with version number being something like -beta0 or
just to remain -alpha, so beta-style builds would be somewhat tested before
first actual beta release?
I don't think we've ever done that, and there has been no problems (but one
close call when it occurred to me to locally test beta build just before
release to find out that it didn't compile).
