Details:

Loading file #17386 (a savegame created during S2_4 development) into current
trunk (r23413) gives many errors. If one proceeds to start the game, the
server crashes.

I haven't investigated what's going on at all, but it's been unclean for a
while (I use this as an example of a game in progress when testing things).
There might need to be multiple tickets spawned from this one.

Just loading into a server we get:


Savegame corrupt - map size not correct.
Failure loading savegame!
in load_command() [stdinhand.c::3711]: assertion 'nbarbs ==
server.nbarbarians' failed.
in send_ruleset_game() [ruleset.c::5824]: assertion 'game.veteran != ((void
*)0)' failed.


Loading in the client (which does additional server commands) gives
additionally:


AI*1 has been added as Easy level AI-controlled player (classic).
