Follow-up Comment #1, bug #21592 (project freeciv):
This is still with us: copying a comment I made a few days ago on the Debian
bug report:
"Completely by coincidence, after playing with an upstream release candidate
(S2_4 r24328, close to what will be 2.4.2) I found my console full of
(freeciv-gtk2:1983): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead
"(I didn't notice any obvious trouble.)"
(bug #16760 also mentions this symptom in passing.)
