Follow-up Comment #1:
Finding a way to fix precisely the issue as described was difficult. The
attached patch series instead removes this function, using different
constructions to determine the affected classes for a given effect (and
incidentally removing more reliance on move_type).
If these patches are acceptable, I'm curious if others think they ought be
squashed into a single commit, or be pushed as two commits.
