Details:
Make Edit widgets to handle UTF-8 correctly internally. This still only helps
as long as the text stays in edit widget code (improvement is that UTF-8
characters are correctly shown during the editing). Once the editing is
finished, code receiving the string still assumes it to be UNICODE, so it
doesn't work.
