Follow-up Comment #5, bug #20598 (project freeciv):
I believe I was still seeing it on Xubuntu 12.04 right up until I upgraded a
couple of weeks ago.
I no longer see it on Xubuntu 14.04.
It might be down to an ancient Gtk3 version, although given it's
theme-specific the interaction could be more complex and the bug still latent.
