Details:
This ticket is about committing patch #4274 "Reverting S2_5 packet type field
to 8bit" now also to S2_6 and TRUNK.
After the changes pepeto made to the type width setting, making things to
adjust dynamically and even runtime, the effort to switch to 16bit only when
it's needed is so tiny that there's no point in keeping protocol "ready" for
that by running 16bi type already.
Also, I've got some plans to make some changes to TRUNK so that it, thanks to
the new runtime flexibility, will always default to 8bit, only using 16bit
mode in some special cases.
