Follow-up Comment #5, bug #23322 (project freeciv):
Ah, I didn't think to try starting the game, although I see the original
report says to. Derp.
I think we want this in 2.5.0.
The release candidate procedure suggests making a new RC ASAP after fixing
such a bug. That would be this weekend. I haven't yet worked out if my weekend
plans allow time for a release, but it's a possibility.
