 Welcome abroad. I hope you stay. Do you have any prior open source
experience? I were already involved in OSS before I became pro myself, but
I've seen that being SW pro can be either good or bad thing when entering
this new world. I hope you got the good kind of attitude.
 As for the patch, please submit it to the patch tracker. (I'm writing this
on mobile phone, so I'll leave it to you to find the link from gna, same
place you found this mailing list) You'll soon see that this mailing list
is largely driven by the those patch & bug tickets, comments added to them
get forwarded here.
 Oh, and as 2.5 is already stable series (bugfixes only), you will need to
port your patch to later branched if you want it accepted; at least to
trunk and maybe to S2_6, for which it is almost too late - but we'll see. I
would be interested to see what you've got already, so feel free to submit
2.5 version initially.
