Follow-up Comment #3, bug #24898 (project freeciv):
What exactly is xgettext supposed to do in xxx.lua and xxx.ruleset files? (For
xxx read asterisk, IIRC I cannot get a literal star on Gna!, and I cannot
write xxx on Wikia without admin rights.)
There should be a better *and existing* solution than transforming xxx.ruleset
and xxx.lua files into unreadable gibberish only for xgettext parsing and each
apostrophe, or other esoteric reasons as in these fixes. Is it a missing
option for non-C input? Is it a<s> better</s>nother tool like poedit? Is it
some Python script I haven't found in under 10 seconds? Willing to kill it
with awk if *existing* turns out to be *not*.
