Seems to me that an ultra-simplistic view of the event is like:
1. Free knowledge!
a. Using free formats e.g. ODF, PDF, etc.
b. Using non-free formats e.g. .DOC, etc.
We are a LUG so let's go with 1a.
1a. Free knowledge using free formats
i. Using free tools - e.g. OOo
ii. Using non-free tools - e.g. Wordperfect
We are a LUG, so lets go with 1ai.
1ai. Free knowledge using free formats and free tools
* Using OOo
* Using koffice.
etc.
I agree somewhat to what Kenneth is saying. While 1) and 1a) are noble
goals, we are just one of the many
orgs working on it(especially [1]). What we really want people to come
around to, is at the 1ai level.
Lets say we are talking about (1). To many people, using 1a and 1b are
good enough. Would you rather focus your talks to tackle (1) or would you
alienate people who are nodding their heads in (1) by insisting on 1a ?
I hope I am making myself clear enough. Else I can always think of
weirder bullet styles to explain further ;)
