Original announcement is at
https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/furthering-evolution-centos-stream

Redfat from day0 has had an un-easy relationship with CentOS.

- first the CentOS team core was acqui-hired in the org
- second the pace and direction was controlled and defined keeping RHEL in
context.
- third the stream theory was invented
- fourth CentOS went upstream to RHEL
- now git repo is eliminated, so changes are made available as per discretion
etc

FWIW, all redfat based distro are "subscription cutter"s !

- Ora
- Alma
- Rocky
etc

Redfat is uncomfortable when it can't influence the directions, features, pace
of a project.

This is not the first instance. Something similar is brewing in libvirt, virtio
space as well.

warm regards
Saifi.
