FreedomBox is trying to setup LDAP server for the first time. It is trying to create a entry such as "dn: ou=users,dc=thisbox" and it unable to do so as it did not find the parent entry (dc=thisbox). This is unexpected because FreedomBox also responsible for creating the parent entry by configuring the 'slapd' package. Does the problem get solved if you run 'dpkg-reconfigure slapd' and specify the value 'thisbox' when the package asks for 'domain'?
How did you install FreedomBox? I assume this is using the Debian installer (and selecting the FreedomBox Blend). Unfortunately, in this approach there are some unnecessary questions being asked (we are looking for solution). Leaving them all to their default works just fine. FreedomBox will later set the right values. However, if you have answered this to some value unexpected, this could have happened. What did you answer for the question LDAP domain?
