I noticed Jonas also sees the "not yet easy to [...] use" part of the issue :)

Just top-of-the-mind points of importance for mass popularity:

the FreedomBox needs to:
- just work! (uhu: iPun style - out of the box, no terminal, no confusion,... very well designed ui/ux) - be extremely user-friendly = have an attractive, intuitive, accessible (so also responsive) interface
- be (percieved as) essential, existential and empowering
= bring back the (free, open, decentralized) roots of the net and make it accessible to the masses ( + secure, + cheap, + sustainable)
