Hi all, I very much agree that AUTOCONF is a waste of space for compiling EDLIN for DOS. A 2 line BATCH script would have been enough. Please offer a download with the sources and a classic Makefile but no AUTOCONF stuff. People with very strange BSD versions on their toaster or whatever can still download the full sources with autoconf, but the "average Joe" just does not need it. Far too complex compared with the complexity of EDLIN itself. Especially as "all" modern compilers support "all" the default library functions, which makes the autoconf variables which are actually used in EDLIN more or less sit around with default values on "all" systems.
Eric. PS: I think if the 720k variant of ODIN works fine, the ODIN announcement can be changed to say that ODIN 0.6 is available both as 720k and 1440k floppy image. Maybe one could create a 1200k image for people with 5.25inch floppy, too. ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
