Oh, if you or I could do that! Good dream, but too difficult to do :( So we're STUCK with the GPL!
We cannot forget that if it were *not* GPL it would not have had so many people helping ;-)
You're right, of course. We're just like teen-agers who try to break with their parents but forget that they owe their own life to them. At some point, parents get too old to understand their kids, just like the GPL gets too old to understand us (or perhaps the other way around ;-)
