Hmm. What's the best choice then? Solaris? FreeBSD? FreeDOS? For whom? :)

But then I don't consider Windows 98 and FreeDOS alternatives to Linux as
they fill different niches. Windows NT+ may be an alternative but it
depends on what you use the computer for of course -- I would have to
install a *lot* of extra 3rd party software such as Cygwin to be able to
use it effectively but then I'm not a normal home user.
