Michael, MD> Since you're the maintainer and overall "big picture" MD> operations man on EMM386 well - I was the programing guy. Now someone else stepped in, and he has done GREAT. Now I'm left with administrative stuff ;)
MD> and I've just been handling the addition MD> of a couple of features tiny understatement. VCPI support alone added ~1200 lines of code, not counting changed lines. I would have never expected it to be possible to add VCPI at all. I'm really impressed by what you have achieved - and don't say that often. compliments again. MD> My only observation is the typical one that MD> reasonable Microsoft compatibility is probably a good thing unless I agree 120% - and thats the reason I sometimes don't implement things, because I think that implementing them wrongly can be worse then not implementing them at all, and I got some real wrong suggestions regarding RAM=, ROM= I'm right now doing some administrative stuff (changing versions, history, replacing himem by himem64, emm386 by emm38664,...), and also rewrote my SY2PACK into a new SY3pack, using aPlib (from aPack author Jorgen Ibsen), for another astonishing compression enhancement. this compresses emm38664.exe to 12096 byte, and himem64 to 6818 byte - really astonishing for an exepacker (compared to xxZIP) won't be finished today, but expect a himem/emm386 1.0 RC real soon. MD> I've got no big MD> complaints with what you had done with them before I butted in. Neither do I with you you have done scince you stepped in. thanks. tom ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
