If there is anyone left out there whose version of HIMEM[64] reports using the KBC or KBC-2 method (displayed at startup), please let me know if you can re-test under a HIMEM code modification.
A user had an old 386 machine which was incompatible with HIMEM[64]'s current KBC method. I had to regress and modify the KBC routine to get HIMEM to work with his 386. However, since previous HIMEM testers also tested the KBC routine to get it working for them, I need to check with them as well. This change does NOT affect the fast, PS2, and BIOS methods of A20 detection found in relatively modern machines, so we don't have to worry about re-doing that mess all over again. This is just for those using KBC or KBC-2, most likely on an older style machine. Worse case scenario, we'll have to add a command line parameter to choose which KBC version gets used for those that need it, but I'd really, really, like to avoid that sort of thing. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
