A well known alternative for '*.*' is to use '.' with 'copy', like: 'copy . c:'
This works fine with MsDOS and DrDOS (OpenDOS) but fails
on FreeDOS with every kernel (2026b - 2035) and freecom
(0.82pl1 - 0.82pl3k) I tried (clean boot, no himem/emm386).
This dot-shortcut is used a lot in batch-files on DOS so I think
this deserves a Bugzilla entry.
Would this be a Kernel or a Freecom issue ... ?
maybe fixed in CVS? see:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/freedos/freecom/CHANGED?only_with_tag=MAIN
easy way of testing is keeping FreeCOM but switching kernels (FreeDOS, MSdos),
and checking if there are any differences in behaviour.
If still not determined, MS command.com can be involved.
1)MS-kernel + MS command.com
2)MS-kernel + FreeCOM
3)FD-kernel + FreeCOM
[4) FD kernel + MS command.com ???]
