All you guys almost had me convinced to bite the bullet and force EMM386 ALTBOOT to be work like MS since it's likely (but not guaranteed) it won't affect too many applications, and then another idea is introduced. Well, maintainer decides these things and that's Tom. If you can convince him, that works for me, otherwise...that works for me too.

Tom wrote this yesterday:
a) it shouldn't be needed
b) MS /ALTBOOT is documented as 'if you *really* run into problems, use
that'

the current behaviour is pretty good tested, and should remain this
way; I vote for michael.

And I agree with that. And saying that is consistent with my post the other day:
Since it's already been released, if it stayed as-is for now BUT IS
CLEARLY DOCUMENTED POST-1.0 when the option changed definition, that
should be fine for the end-users.

So, leave it as-is. That's fine. IF IT IS CHANGED IN FUTURE, please make sure it's documented VERY CLEARLY in the documentation. (And if it does change, we'll make special note of it on the web site.)
