FSF lawyer Eben Moglen gave a rather interesting interview for the German magazine "Golem", less than two months ago: http://dyn1.golem.de/cgi-bin/usisapi.dll/forprint?id=31795 It's in German but we have quite a number of Germans here. He says GPL3 is 95% ready and will be out in 2005 or 2006. But he touches other painful issues like patents etc. too. I'm sorry I don't know enough German to understand it all.
