Manually configuraing is a pain ... the following site may give some
clues.

It does make a difference as to what particular version of the client
you are using.  If you are trying to setup file sharing with a
windows/samba box then you are probably better off using MS-Client 3.0
rather than the older Lan Manager client 2.x.  

I find the novell ODI drivers a bit easier to setup, but mainly because
that's what I've used most often.
